International FASD and Justice System Study - External Opportunity
Dr. David Junior Gilbert (who attended the 9th International Research Conference on Adolescents and Adults with FASD April 2024) and colleagues from the University of Salford Manchester are conducting research on FASD and justice using an international study. You can participate! Learn more about how by watching their informational video. We love seeing FASD have a seat at the justice table!

FASD & Mental Health, with Dan Dobovsky, MSW
Thank you for speaking up. My son has FAS and I was always judged for telling him since I got him at almost 2 years, that he has FAS because people thought that I was labelling him. But I always said that he doesnt see it that way and it was so reasuring that you felt a weight lifting off your shoulders. My son just entered first grade and I hope that he will grow up happy.
He is so strong and amazing!! Praying he has a great life. Thanks for sharing your story ❤
What an eloquent young man. Respect to you and those who have helped you 👍🏻
Thankyou for sharing.❤ Just be you! Being you is enough!😊🦋
❤
You are so clever . U sound great. And you work with kids . Well done you lovely . God bless you xx ❤❤
10 years later... sadly so little has changed. America, and the world, is in denial. It makes me very angry. Someday the world will wake up this problem.
You are beautiful and very smart and i love your vest.
Morgan is also my name in welsh it means chieftain... I wish you all that happiness you deserve. May the ancestors smile upon you my friend.
Thank you for spreading the word about FASD.
This is PURE amazing such an angel to take care of kids with FASD , my sound like my mom *foster mom* always been so attention on my issues and helping me through life , im 27 now its she's trying to help me get adult services going , im still struggling terribly at this point in life ... but i know theyre doing there best for me to try and help my situation get better i couldn't ask for any better parents , put up with so much through my life and they never had to its amazing amazing amazinggg! ... true angels to me i honestly dont know what id do without them id be SO LOST!!
What an amazing little Man he is ! and his Nonna loves him deeply and he her, that's plain to See.❤
I wish you peace. I had a psychic change after 30 years in and out of fellowships. My son is 12 and he had FASD and I understand he could have developed it even if I was not an alcoholic. I keep it simple these days and my life is full of peace,
I am incredibly encouraged by this woman. I pray that God will continue to bless her. What a beautiful and courageous soul! Thank you for this video!!
I worked with Rusty in Alexandria. His usual way of walking was the "walking of the fox". Gather on ME! Listen to Prem Rawat!
Thanks very truthful
WOW over load
This is tragic on so many levels- the actual story itself is tragic, and the reality that we as parents, educators, health professionals and society as a whole are ignorant in dealing with brain based disabilities. Until we accept FASD as a disability the majority of people will never learn to deal with it.
Nizhoni. ❤❤❤❤
The women who spoke up and shared their stories are incredibly brave to do so. I'm sure it is hard to imagine what their life circumstances might have been to lead them to addiction, and the strength it must have taken to ask for help and admit how their actions hurt their children. I am grateful to them and the people helping them in their recovery for helping me see their experience. We can all help prevent this from happening to more women by developing empathy for those affected and educating rather than stigmatizing women.
Everyone is in recovery and healing and it's amazing. Keep going! My grandma was an alcoholic. There are many members of my community who have FASD. I don't have it myself, but I know people who do and whose mothers drank while pregnant.
Wow. As someone with FASD from this area it’s eye opening seeing this.affluent family and all my mom still drank. God bless the guy at 1:11, I was 16 in 2012 just as him. Wow.
Congratulations to all of the people living with FASDs, their caregivers and families, advocates and professionals, and especially the staff of NOFAS. It's exciting that our national organization is moving forward with its new name, FASD United and the beautiful, inspired logo. I believe that this change will provide a new impact and energy in the work we do across the country. Thank you! Donnie Winokur, The Chancer Chronicles LLC
Hurray for FASD United, a bigger, better tent nurturing a bigger community. Up to one in 20 children and adults affected! Keep up the good work FASD United. We need you and your message.
Great news for a phenomenal organization!
Good advice. 👍 I have 2 adopted.
I am currently in a relationship with a man that has this Fetal Alcohol disorder. for the first few months, it was hard for me, cause his personality and disability likely affected our relationship. But once I start to learn more about his disability and learn about how to live with it, I realized that he was just as loving as a normal person and you just have to pay attention when the syndrome episode came.
Praying for you and your son
I admire this young man so much
Rip he died at 27 of heart attack in 2016. The average lifespan of people with severe FASD is 34 years.
Imagine eyes focusing at 2 different times. He is in agony. However we u see
There is no cure for fasd . It gets worse as they get older. They become depressed. They get in trouble with the police as they don't understand there are consequences for their actions. They have real bad outbursts snd find it very difi cult to get a partner. It's awful for them .
God bless him. God help all those who are afflicted. ❤🙏❤🙏
So proud of you, you make a difference 👏
Remarkable and articulate person! Thank you so much for sharing your story...it means more than you could know. RIP ♥️
Bless you for sharing your story.
Thanks for this video.
No amount of alcohol is okay!
You’re speaking FACTSSS, the knowledge in this video is Fye !!
You are a blessing thank you! Thank you for sharing you are educating me.
It is 2021
Are the doctors getting closer to a cure for FADS?
I’ve got fragile x syndrome and honestly my iq is probably between 70-80.
WOW , 💕 thank you
I❤Morgan's learning style!!!
Hey there's a drink that makes you dizzy and makes you slur your words, and the next day you have a headache. Don't drink it while you're eating and drinking for a growing baby inside you. I don't believe that more than common sense is needed to avoid FASD.
Amazing story Nicholas, keep striving for greatness!
For a few years I worked first hand with a young woman who, she recently confided in me, was most likely affected by this. Sadly she was terminated. I wish people had somehow been more aware about her situation.
Her poor children. How sad.....of course there’s a stigma. 🥺🥺
It’s true. He’s impaired every day. Thanks mom 😑
